General Seán Mac Eoin

After Seán's death in 1973, his vast collection of papers (40 boxes) spanning from 1917-1973 were given to the Order of Franciscan Monks (OFM).  In 1997 these papers were transferred to the archives of UCD (University College Dublin) where they remain today and are available for private viewing by appointment.  The main bulk of these papers have been microfilmed and can be viewed in the archive which is located in the James Joyce building in UCD. The collection contains personal accounts of events during Seáns life including the War of Independence and Civil War, photographs, personal note books, letters and diaries.  The collection has been indexed and the index runs to 363 pages.
